Summer Spotlight: Monty Sanders

Before returning to California for the summer, senior soccer player Monty Sanders (Temecula, Calif.) sat down with GoHolyCross.com's Carly Grimaudo to discuss his summer plans and senior year as a Crusader leading the men's soccer team. Sanders, a member of the Holy Cross Leadership Academy, was named team captain for the second year in a row. Since his freshman year, Sanders has played and started in 51 of 52 games, thus having a clear impact on the field for the team. Just this past season as a junior, Sanders scored three goals and had a career-best two assists doubling his points from his freshman and sophomore years. This past season, Sanders also gained Patriot League recognition for his performance both on the field and in the classroom by being named to both the first-team All-Patriot League squad and the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. Heading into senior year with a career total seven goals and two assists for 16 points, Sanders looks to make another big impact next season to close out his collegiate career.
