WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross athletic director Richard M. Regan, Jr. and head men's soccer coach Marco Koolman have announced the Crusaders' schedule for the 2012 season. Holy Cross is scheduled to play a total of 17 games during the regular season, including eight at the Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium and three on the road versus 2011 NCAA Tournament participants (Colgate, Dartmouth and Providence).
The Crusaders open the 2012 season with a home game versus Quinnipiac on Aug. 30. Holy Cross then will play road games at 2011 Ivy League champion Dartmouth (Sept. 2) and Sacred Heart (Sept. 5), followed by a home contest against Bryant (Sept. 8). After a match at Providence (Sept. 12), who received an at-large big to the 2011 NCAA Tournament and made it to the second round, the Crusaders will host Rhode Island (Sept. 15) and play at Boston University (Sept. 18).
The Crusaders will kick off Patriot League action with a home game against Army (Sept. 22), and then hit the road for contests at Northeastern (Sept. 25), Lafayette (Sept. 29) and 2011 Patriot League Tournament champion Colgate (Oct. 6). After home matches versus Bucknell (Oct. 13) and New Hampshire (Oct. 16), the Crusaders will play at Lehigh (Oct. 20). Holy Cross will play at home against Navy (Oct. 27) and Harvard (Oct. 30), and then conclude the regular season at 2011 Patriot League regular season champion American (Nov. 3).
The Patriot League Tournament is set for Nov. 9 and 11 on the campus of the regular season champion. The top four teams in the final regular season standings will take part in the tournament.
