Men's Soccer Ready For Road Bout With Bucknell This Weekend

  • The Holy Cross men's soccer team looks for its first league win this week, traveling to play against Bucknell on Saturday, Oct. 15. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m. at Emmitt Field in Lewisburg, Pa. 
  • The Crusaders and Bison have met 21 times in program history. Holy Cross owns a 9-8-4 edge in the series and is 1-2-2 in the last five meetings. The Crusaders lost a 1-0 decision the last time they played on Emmitt Field, which was held on Oct. 10, 2009. The two teams played to a 2-2 tie last season.
  • Bucknell owns a 6-5-1 record this season and won at Navy this past weekend to improve to 1-2-0 in Patriot League play. Sophomore Mayowa Alli leads Bucknell's offensive attack with six goals and two assists on the season. He leads the Patriot League in goals and total points (14). Bucknell leads the league in goals (18) and points (52). They are currently tied for sixth in league play as well.
  • After Saturday's loss to Colgate, the Crusaders rank eighth in the Patriot League standings with a 0-3-0 record. American is first with an unblemished 3-0-0 record. The squad was 0-2-1 in league action at this point in the 2010 season and finished at 0-4-3. The last time Holy Cross went winless in conference action for two consecutive seasons was 1990-1991. The Crusaders combined for a 0-13-0 record during those two seasons.
