WORCESTER, Mass. - Holy Cross athletic director Richard M. Regan, Jr. and men's soccer head coach Ted Priestly have announced the 2011 schedule for the Crusaders. The slate includes nine home contests at the Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium and an appearance in the Brown Soccer Classic.
The Crusaders will open up the season with three straight home games, hosting Boston University (Aug. 26), Dartmouth (Sept. 2) and Sacred Heart (Sept. 6). The squad then participates in the Brown Soccer Classic, held from Sept. 9-11, matching up against Temple (Sept. 9) and George Mason (Sept. 11). Three road contests follow as the team travels to Providence (Sept. 14), Rhode Island (Sept. 17) and then the Patriot League opener at Army (Sept. 24). The team completes September competition with a home bout against Northeastern (Sept. 27).
Holy Cross continues its conference schedule in October, hosting Lafayette (Oct. 1), Colgate (Oct. 8) and then traveling to Bucknell (Oct. 15). The team then splits the last four October contests between the road and at home, going to New Hampshire (Oct. 18), playing Lehigh (Oct. 22) and Brown (Oct. 25) in Worcester and then taking a trip to Navy (Oct. 29). A home match with American (Nov. 5) completes the regular season.
The Patriot League Tournament is scheduled for Nov. 11-13 and will be held on the campus of the regular season champion. The top four teams in the final regular season standings will advance to the conference tournament.
