Miller & Van Grinsven Earn All-Patriot League Honors

WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross men's soccer senior captains Kyle Miller (Woodbury, N.J.) and Tom Van Grinsven (Chicago, Ill.) have been named to the 2010 second team All-Patriot League squad, announced by the league. Van Grinsven collects the honor for the first time while Miller picks up his second-consecutive second team nod.

Miller started and played in 16 contests this season, scoring one goal and tallying 21 shots. He finishes with 43 points in his career, placing him 11th on the Holy Cross top career scorers list. He has totaled 20 goals and three assists and was a first team All-League selection as sophomore and a second team honoree last season as well.

Van Grinsven started in all 18 games this season. He tripled his career goal total this season as he has tied the team-high with three goals. He finishes with four goals in his career as he was also the rock on defense for the team that recorded six shutouts and allowed 1.5 goals per game this season.

The 2010 Patriot League Men's Soccer Tournament will be played this weekend, beginning with Friday's semifinals as No. 4 Bucknell plays No. 1 Colgate at 5:00 p.m. and No. 3 American takes on No. 2 Lehigh at 8:00 p.m. The winners meet for the Patriot League Championship on Sunday, Nov. 14 at 1:00 p.m.
