WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross athletic director Richard M. Regan, Jr. and head men's soccer coach Ted Priestly have announced the Crusaders' schedule for the 2010 season. Holy Cross is scheduled to play a total of 18 games this season, including five home contests at the Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium and eight games against teams which advanced to the 2009 NCAA Tournament (Boston College, Brown, Bucknell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Northwestern, San Diego and Stony Brook).
The Crusaders will open the season at Sacred Heart (Sept. 1). Following a game at Dartmouth (Sept. 4), Holy Cross will face both Stony Brook (Sept. 10) and San Diego (Sept. 12) in the Dartmouth Classic. The Crusaders will then play a pair of away games versus Northern Illinois (Sept. 17) and Northwestern (Sept. 19) in the Northwestern Classic. After away games against Lafayette (Sept. 25) and Albany (Sept. 29), the Crusaders will travel to Colgate (Oct. 2).
Following the Crusader's home opener against Harvard (Oct. 6), Holy Cross will play 2009 Patriot League Tournament champion Bucknell at home (Oct. 9). The Crusaders will then play away contests versus Boston College (Oct. 12) and Lehigh (Oct. 16). Holy Cross will conclude the regular season with two home games against New Hampshire (Oct. 20) and Navy (Oct. 23), two away games versus Brown (Oct. 26) and American (Oct. 30), and a final home game against Army (Nov. 6).
The Patriot League Tournament is set for Nov. 12-14, on the campus of the regular season champion. The top four teams in the final regular season standings will take part in the tournament.
