  • The Holy Cross men’s rowing team returns to action following a week off for its final home event of the year, hosting the Eastern Sprints on Sunday, May 10, the competition is set to begin at 7:30 a.m. In this weekend’s events, Holy Cross will have four boats competing: the varsity eight, second varsity eight, freshmen eight and open four. This will be the fifth year in a row that Holy Cross has hosted the Eastern Sprints at Lake Quinnsigamond.
  • Last season, the Crusaders were led by the varsity eight and second varsity eight who both finished in 15th place. The varsity eight finished third out of six boats with a time of 6:26.173 and the second varsity eight placed third out of four boats with a time of 6:27.901. Holy Cross closed out the novice eight six-boat race final with a time of 6:33.012.
  • In 2007, Holy Cross’ varsity eight finished in 14th place while the second varsity eight and freshman eight recorded a 15th-place finish. The varsity eight finished in sixth place in their race with a time of 5:50.312 while both the second varsity eight (6:01.855) and freshmen eight (5:58.929) placed third in their races.
  • During the 2006 competition, Holy Cross had two boats race in the event as the varsity eight finished in 13th place while the lightweight eight earned an 11th-place finish. In 2005, the varsity eight boat was the only boat that competed for Holy Cross in the Eastern Sprints. The Crusaders placed 10th in the 17-boat event, marking the best finish for Holy Cross in five years.
