Men's Rowing Opens Spring Season Versus MIT And Columbia

Schedule: Saturday, April 4 at #20 MIT and #8 Columbia, Boston, Mass., 7:48 a.m.

Sunday, April 5 vs. Dartmouth, Worcester, Mass., 12:00 p.m.

  • The Holy Cross men's rowing team begins its spring season this weekend on the road, traveling to face MIT and Columbia on Saturday, April 4, at 9:00 a.m. The Crusaders return home to host their first regatta of the year, competing against Dartmouth on Sunday, April 5, at 8:00 a.m.
  • The Crusaders met with Columbia and MIT once during the 2008 season at the Alumni Cup in Pelham, N.Y. On April 5, the men's varsity eight finished third with a time of 6:16.4, just behind second-place MIT (6:14.5). Columbia finished first in the event with a time of 6:01.2. During the second varsity eight, Columbia had a first-place time of 6:29.9, followed by Holy Cross (6:40.1). In the Novice Eight event, Columbia grabbed first place with a time of 6:16.5, followed by MIT (6:18.4) and Holy Cross (6:25.9).
  • Holy Cross met with Dartmouth last season on April 6, with the Crusaders' second varsity eight taking first place in their race with a time of 6:16.4, followed by Dartmouth (6:23.0) and the Holy Cross third varsity eight (6:45.0). Dartmouth finished first in the novice eight race with a time of 6:07.3, followed by Holy Cross (6:31.2) and the Dartmouth second novice eight boat (6:49.9).
