BOSTON, Mass. - The Holy Cross men's rowing team competed in the annual Head of the Charles regatta this past weekend. The Head of the Charles is the largest two-day regatta and attracts the best teams from around the world. The Crusaders competed in some of the most competitive events offered, including the Men's Club Eight on Saturday afternoon and Men's Championship Eight on Sunday Afternoon.
In Saturday's competition, Holy Cross finished 45th out of 69 boats in the Men's Club Eight race, with a time of 16:40.826. The Crusaders' boat was composed of sophomore coxswain Buddy Dolan (Northbrook, Ill.), senior Terry Therrien (Columbia, Conn.), freshman Sean Corwen (Princeton, N.J.), sophomore Clint McCabe (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.), freshman Dan Ryan (Wilmette, Ill.), Charles Ullman, sophomore Pete Haney (Oreland, Pa.), junior Eddie Pinero (Forestdale, Mass.) and senior Christopher Sieck (Haddonfield, N.J.).
On Sunday, the Crusaders finished 32nd out of 37 boats in the Men's Championship Eight race, with a time of 15:47.361. Holy Cross' boat was composed of sophomore coxswain Mary Carol Madigan (Kenilworth, Ill.), junior Daniel McGlinn (Ambler, Pa.), junior D.J. Estes (Falmouth, Mass.), senior co-captain Erick Winstead (Fairfield, Conn.), senior Wade Lucas (Portland, Maine), senior James Eagan (Norwich, Conn.), junior Garrett Pearce (Haworth, N.J.), senior co-captain Adam Furlong (Pittstown, N.J.) and senior Christian Bratton (Philadelphia, Pa.).
The men's rowing team returns to action when they compete in the Princeton Chase Regatta in Princeton, N.J., scheduled to start at 11:00 a.m.
