Men's Rowing Competes At George Washington Invitational

ARLINGTON, Va. - The Holy Cross men's rowing team raced in the George Washington Invitational on Saturday afternoon, finishing in 10th place out of 12 boats. The Crusaders competed in morning and afternoon events, placing first in the afternoon varsity eight race with a time of 5:36.4, followed by Gonzaga (5:35.6).

In the morning events, George Washington recorded first place finishes in all three races against Holy Cross. In the novice eight, George Washington recorded a time of 6:01.7 while the Crusaders finished with a time of 6:17.1. George Washington finished first in the second varsity eight with a time of 5:56.0, followed by Holy Cross (6:04.1). In the varsity eight race, George Washington recorded a first place time of 5:39.3 while Holy Cross finished with a time of 5:47.4.

In the afternoon events, Holy Cross faced Gonzaga, winning the varsity eight but falling in both the second varsity eight and novice eight races. In the second varisty eight, Gonzaga finished with a first place time of 5:53.6, followed by Holy Cross (5:58.0). In the novice eight race, Gonzaga recorded a time of 5:50.1 while Holy Cross recorded a time of 6:10.2.

The Crusaders return to action on Saturday, April 18, facing Georgetown in Cherry Hill, N.J. The regatta is set to begin at 3:00 p.m.
