WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross men's rowing team hosted Dartmouth, Delaware and Massachusetts in their second home race of the season on Saturday at Lake Quinisgamond.
The men's varsity eight boat finished first with a time of 5:55.3, ahead of Delaware who finished second (6:01.9), and UMass who closed out the race with a time of 6:06.5. The men's second varsity picked up the first place finish in their race, recording a time of 6:10.4 over Delaware's heavyweight team (6:24.6) and UMass (6:31.6).
With a time of 6:26.0, the men's third varsity eight boat finished second in their race behind Delaware, who recorded a time of 6:26.0. With a time of 6:36.2, the freshman/novice eight boat placed second in their race, made up of coxswain Mary Carol Madigan, stroke Grant O'Connell, Peter Haney, Tucker Wade, Justin Howlett, Matt O'Sullivan, Neal Gallagher, Bobby Valenti, and Bill Brekka.
The Crusaders will return to action on Saturday, April 19 when they travel to host Georgetown for a race at 8:00 a.m.
