Before Holy Cross: Member of the varsity golf team at Ennistymon Christian Brothers School…team captain senior year…awarded Student of the Year.

Personal: Son of Paddy Doherty and Christine Swords…has one brother, Cian…uncle Kevin R. Swords was inducted into the Holy Cross Hall of Fame for rugby in 2002 (Class of 1982)…had numerous relatives graduate from Holy Cross including: great uncle Raymond J. Swords, SJ (Class of 1938), grandfather John P. Swords (Class of 1943), great grandfather John G. O’Conner (Class of 1919), Uncle Brian R. Swords (Class of 1974), uncle John M. Swords (Class of 1976), uncle Brendan J. Swords (Class of 1983).
