Crusaders Set For Eastern Sprints On May 13

  • The Holy Cross men's rowing team will compete against some of the best teams in the nation at the Eastern Sprints on Lake Quinsigamond on Sunday, May 13. Last season the Crusaders finished in a tie for 15th place in the event, which was won by Harvard with a total of 41 points. In the varsity eight, Holy Cross placed fifth in the third-level final, the second varsity eight came in second in the third-level final, the freshman eight took first place in the third-level final and the Crusaders' varsity four claimed fifth place in the grand final.
  • The Crusaders raced against Boston College on Saturday, April 28 on Lake Quinsigamond and won the freshman eight race with a time of 6:13.9, as the Eagles posted a time of 6:14.7. Boston College placed first in the second freshman eight race with a time of 6:34.2 and Holy Cross tallied a time of 6:35.7. The Crusaders swept Bucknell in all three races on Sunday, April 29, as the varsity eight, the second varsity eight and the third varsity eight were all victorious against the Bison.
  • The second varsity eight has won four races during the spring, including the most recent victory against Bucknell. Holy Cross's eight won with a time of 6:10.4, as the Bison recorded a time of 6:15.4.
  • The Crusaders will conclude the season pending qualification at the IRA National Championship (May 31-June 2) in Camden, N.J.
