Men's Rowing Wins Two Of Four Races Versus Georgetown
PRINCETON, N.J. – The Holy Cross men's rowing team raced versus Georgetown on Lake Carnegie on Saturday afternoon as the Crusaders won two of the four races. Holy Cross placed first in the second varsity eight race and in the freshman four race.
Georgetown, whose varsity eight is ranked No. 17 in the nation, won the race with a time of 5:46.7. The Crusaders' varsity eight posted a time of 5:50.3. Holy Cross won the second varsity eight race with a time of 6:01.2 followed by the Crusaders' third varsity eight (6:05.5) and Georgetown (6:06.4). Georgetown took the freshman eight race with a time of 6:07.4 as the Crusaders tallied a time of 6:23.6. Holy Cross "B" won the freshman four race with a time of 7:14.1, followed by Holy Cross "A" (7:18.7) and Georgetown (7:26.2).
"Today was a good demonstration of team speed," said Holy Cross head coach Todd Pearson. "Each crew needs to continue to get faster as we approach Eastern Sprints."
The Crusaders return to action on Saturday, April 21, when they travel to Boston to take on EARC opponent Northeastern at 7:00 a.m.
