Holy Cross Men's Rowing
Schedule: Saturday, Oct. 9 at Snake Regatta, Worcester, Mass., 8:00 a.m.
- The Holy Cross men's rowing team will start its 2010 fall schedule at the Snake Regatta on Lake Quinsigamond on Saturday, Oct. 9. Last year, Holy Cross' varsity eight placed second. Go here for the race schedule.
- The Crusaders return 24 athletes from last season. They are coming off a season in which the varsity eight earned victories over Bucknell and Rutgers, while they received two points in the last USRowing men's varsity eight poll. This was the first time the varsity eight earned points in the final poll of the season since 2007. Also last season, the team competed versus five nationally ranked teams and participated at the IRA National Championship for the fifth straight year as the varsity four represented the Crusaders.
- Senior Pete Haney (Oreland, Pa.) and junior Colin Hayes (Chanhassen, Minn.) will lead the Crusaders as captains this season. Haney has been a member of the second varsity eight for the past two years. He was a member of the second varsity eight that placed fourth in the third-level final in the 2010 Eastern Sprints. Hayes was a member of the varsity four that competed at the 108th IRA National Championship (June 3-5) placing second in the third-level finals and 14th out of 18 teams overall.
