Men's Rowing Names 2010-2011 Captains

Pete Haney

WORCESTER, Mass. The Holy Cross men's rowing program has named senior Pete Haney (Oreland, Pa.) and junior Colin Hayes (Chanhassen, Minn.) as captains for the 2010-2011 season.

"I'm really looking forward to working with Colin and Pete this coming year," said Holy Cross head men's rowing coach Todd Pearson. "In talking with both of them, I know they really want to make a positive impact on the team and help lead their teammates to new heights. As we head into next season, I feel like the team is really headed in the right direction. Colin and Pete's positive attitude is going to help sustain and build that momentum."

Haney has been a member of the second varsity eight for the past two years. He was a member of the second varsity eight that placed fourth in the third-level final in the Eastern Sprints this past season. As a sophomore he sat in the three-seat in the second varsity eight boat and as a freshman he sat in the seven-seat in the freshman eight boat.

Colin Hayes

Hayes was a member of the varsity eight as a sophomore this past season. He was a key part of a Crusader varsity squad that defeated both Bucknell and Rutgers. Two years ago, Hayes was a member of the freshman eight boat.
