Men's Rowing Wraps Up 2009-2010 Season

Season has concluded.

  • The Holy Cross men's rowing team concluded the 2009-2010 season at the 108th IRA National Championship on the Cooper River in Camden, N.J., as the varsity four placed 14th out of 18 teams. This was the fifth straight season that the Crusaders competed at the national competition.
  • Holy Cross' varsity eight received two points in the last USRowing men's varsity eight poll. The last time Holy Cross' varsity eight earned points in the final poll of the season was in 2007 when the Crusaders had six points. In 2006, the Crusaders ranked 19th in the nation in the final poll with 16 points.
  • Holy Cross competed versus some of the nation's top teams this season. The fall season featured the Crusaders racing in the Head of the Charles Regatta. In the spring season, the varsity eight competed against five nationally ranked teams with races versus No. 16 Dartmouth, No. 20 UC San Diego, No. 15 George Washington, No. 20 Georgetown and No. 17 Oregon State. Against Bucknell on Lake Quinsigamond, the varsity eight and the freshman eight won their races, while versus Rutgers on the Raritan River, the Crusaders' varsity eight and freshman eight again each earned victories.
