WORCESTER, Mass. - Holy Cross athletic director Richard M. Regan, Jr., rowing program director Patrick Diggins and head men's rowing coach Todd Pearson have announced the men's schedule for the 2010 spring season. The Crusaders will compete in three events on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester.

"I'm very excited about the challenges that our 2010 schedule presents us," said Pearson. "We will again have dual races against familiar EARC league rivals including Dartmouth, Georgetown and MIT. We've added new dual races against Oregon State and Rutgers, which will be good tests for our squad. Additionally, we are attending the George Washington Invitational for a second straight year, which will be a good test of early season speed. This is one of the premier dual racing regattas in collegiate rowing and a highlight of it is contesting the Sullivan Cup against George Washington. I know the team wants to bring the cup bearing Tom Sullivan's name back to Worcester very badly. Our regular season wraps up with the Eastern Sprints on our home course on Lake Quinsigamond. This year, with more stringent qualification standards in place for qualification to the IRA National Championship, our performance at Sprints becomes even more important."

Holy Cross will kick off the season when it meets Dartmouth (April 3) on Lake Quinsigamond, followed by a trip to Arlington, Va., for the George Washington Invitational (April 9-10). The Crusaders will then compete against Georgetown (April 17) in Pelham, N.Y., before hosting Bucknell (April 24). Holy Cross will then hit the road to Boston to race against MIT and Oregon State (April 25). The Crusaders will wrap up dual-meet action at Rutgers (May 2). On May 16, Holy Cross will compete in the Eastern Sprints on Lake Quinsigamond and then conclude the season at the IRA National Championship (June 3-5) in Camden, N.J., pending qualification.

"Wins don't come easy in the EARC and we will need to be ready to race hard each weekend," said Pearson. "The team is preparing hard to be ready for the challenges of racing season. I can't wait for April to get here."
