Holy Cross Men's Rowing Wraps Up Fall Season At Green Monster Regatta

HANOVER, N.H. - The Holy Cross men's rowing team participated in the Green Monster Freshmen Invitational Regatta on Saturday on the Connecticut River in Hanover, N.H. In all, vessels from eight different schools around New England participated in the event.

The Crusaders A boat of freshmen coxswain Corey Beck (Short Hills, N.J.), Pat Rapuano (Penn Valley, Pa.), Nick Forgione (Haverhill, Mass.), Peter Prominski (Arlington, Va.), Kevin Moran (Maitland, Fla.), Mike Walker (Monson, Mass.), Lucas Netchert (Jersey City, N.J.), Paul Gaffney (Newington, Conn.) and Matt Haraburda (Newtown Square, Pa.) finished in eighth place with a time of 16:19.1. Holy Cross' B boat of sophomore coxswain Emma Rudnik (Lake Bluff, Ill.) and freshmen Nick Powers, Robert Weitzel (Milford, Conn.), Andrew Cecchetti (Wall Township, N.J.), Drew Cumming (Calgary, Alberta), Steve Raiola (New Rochelle, N.Y.), James Piner (Portsmouth, R.I.), Matt Burke and Simon Toledano (Cambridge, Mass.) finished 17th in 18:25.1.

Trinity's B boat crossed the finish line first with a time of 15:53.6, followed by Harvard's Lightweight A crew at 16:06.9. Yale's Lightweight A placed third, while the A boats from Northeastern and Trinity rounded out the top five.

The Crusaders have now concluded the fall portion of their 2009-2010 schedule. The spring slate has not yet been announced.
