Men's Rowing Ready For Head Of The Charles
Team Scores, Snake Regatta, Worcester, Mass., 10/10
Schedule: Saturday-Sunday, Oct. 17-18, Head of the
Charles Regatta, Boston, Mass., 7:45 a.m. (Saturday), 8:00 a.m.
- The Holy Cross men's rowing team continues its fall schedule
Saturday-Sunday, Oct. 17-18, at the 45th Head of the Charles
Regatta on the Charles River in Boston, Mass. The competition
starts at 7:45 a.m. on Saturday and 8:00 a.m. on Sunday.
- In the team's first outing of the season, three boats placed in
the top 10 at the Snake Regatta on Saturday, Oct. 10, on Lake
Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass. The first varsity eight took
second behind WPI's first varsity eight, finishing 17.572 seconds
behind. Holy Cross finished with the most boats in the top 10 with
three. The Crusaders' second varsity eight took seventh while the
freshman eight finished eighth. The first and second varsity eights
from Bates finished third and 10th, respectively, while WPI's first
and second varsity eights took first and fifth, respectively.
- It's the second straight year that WPI and Holy Cross have
finished 1-2 at the Snake Regatta. Last season, WPI's first varsity
eight took first, crossing the finish line 3.214 seconds ahead of
the Crusaders' first varsity eight.
- Holy Cross will hosts its
inaugural rowing weekend in conjunction with Homecoming and the
Head of the Charles on Friday-Saturday, Oct. 16-17. Friday's events
include a golf outing at the Leicester Country Club in Leicester,
Mass. with a dinner to follow. On Saturday, there will be an alumni
tent set up in the Head of the Charles Reunion Village. Those with
