BALTIMORE, Md. -- Senior attackman Billy Klotz (Derry, N.H.) has been selected to try out for the 2006 United States National Team, it was announced by U.S. Lacrosse. Klotz is among 120 players who have been invited to try out for the squad.
The tryouts, which are open to the public, will be held from June 13-16 at the University of Maryland-Baltimore County, and 23 players will be selected from those tryouts to represent the United States at the International Lacrosse Federation World Championship, to be held in London, Ontario, in July of 2006.
Klotz led Holy Cross in scoring with 31 points on 30 goals and one assist during the 2005 season. Over the course of his first three years with the Crusaders, he has now totaled 86 goals and five assists for 91 points.
Syracuse head coach John Desko is the head coach for the 2006 U.S. National Team. He will be assisted by Denison's Mike Caravana, Hobart's Matt Kerwick and Albany's Scott Marr.
