WORCESTER, Mass. - On April 24, Holy Cross head men's lacrosse coach Adam Pascal was honored as one of 50 "Mentors that Matter" in a ceremony at the Great Hall of the Massachusetts State House in Boston. Pascal was honored for his role as a Big Brother, and for encouraging the entire men's lacrosse team to be Big Brothers at Canterbury School in Worcester.

The team, known as "John's Brothers," volunteer every week during the school year. Matched with ethnically diverse children, the lacrosse team spent two hours per week mentoring students both inside and outside the classroom. This program was formed six years ago to honor the memory of John Price, who died in a tragic accident after being elected captain of the 2001 lacrosse team.
