WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross men's lacrosse team has been picked to finish seventh in the 2009 Patriot League preseason poll as voted on by head coaches and sports information directors from around the league. Colgate was picked to finish first as it earned eight of 14 first place votes and 66 total points. Navy had three first place votes and 63 total points as it was picked to finish second, followed by Bucknell (53 total points and two first place votes), Army (46 total points and one first place vote), Lehigh (31 total points), Lafayette (19 total points) and Holy Cross (16 total points). Colgate's Brandon Corp was named the league's Preseason Offensive Player of the Year, while Bucknell's Billy Haire was named the Preseason Defensive Player of the Year.
The Crusaders kick off the 2009 season when they host St. John's on Saturday, Feb. 14 at 12:00 p.m.
