Men's Lacrosse Drops 11-3 Decision To Hartford

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - The Holy Cross men's lacrosse team fell to Hartford, 11-3, on Saturday afternoon at Al-Marzook Field. With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 0-2 on the season, while the Hawks improve to 2-1. Senior John O'Sullivan (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.), sophomore J.D. Pelligrini (Syracuse, N.Y.) and junior Paul LeBlanc (Lexington, Mass.) each scored goals for Holy Cross.
The Hawks had a 4-0 lead in the third period before LeBlanc and Pelligrini scored back to back goals to cut the lead to 4-2 with 1:15 left in the period. Hartford then scored two straight goals to take a 6-2 lead. O'Sullivan scored with 10:18 left in the fourth period to make the score 6-3. But the Hawks then scored the last five goals of the game to earn the 11-3 victory.
Holy Cross senior goalie Matt Fallon (Mount Kisco, N.Y.) made 12 saves, while Hartford's Jon McMahon stopped 10 shots. The Hawks outshot the Crusaders by a 26-16 margin.
The Crusaders will return to action on Tuesday, March 7, when they travel to Durham, N.C., to face No. 2 Duke at 3:00 p.m.
