WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross men's lacrosse sophomore Terry McKenna (Summit, N.J.) has been named to the Patriot League All-Academic team.
McKenna, who has a 3.70 grade-point average and is an Economics major, played in all 15 games with 14 starts this season. He was second on the team with 24 goals and third with 29 points. McKenna also posted five assists and 28 ground balls. For his career he has 30 goals and eight assists for 38 points. He was named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll as a freshman and was also the team's Rookie of the Year.
To be eligible for the All-Academic team the student-athlete has to have at least a 3.20 total grade point average and be a starter or a key player in his/her sport. Freshmen or students in their first academic year at their school are not eligible for the honor.
The Crusaders concluded the season with their most wins since the 1988 season with a 7-8 record. Holy Cross went 2-4 in the Patriot League, marking the first time in program history that the Crusaders have won two Patriot League games. Holy Cross defeated Navy on March 17 for first time in school history and also defeated Lafayette on April 6.
