Men’s Lacrosse Picked Sixth In Patriot League Preseason Poll

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross men's lacrosse team has been picked to finish sixth in the 2013 Patriot League preseason poll as voted on by head coaches and sports information directors from around the league. Lehigh was picked to finish first as it earned nine of 14 first-place votes and 69 total points. Colgate had the other five first-place votes and 65 total points as it was picked to finish second, while Army followed in third with 48 total points. Bucknell (43 total points) was fourth, Navy (35 total points) was fifth, Holy Cross (20 total points) was sixth and Lafayette (14 total points) was seventh. Senior Peter Baum of Colgate was selected the preseason's Offensive Player of the Year, while the preseason Defensive Player of the Year was chosen to be senior Mike Huffner of Bucknell.

The Crusaders kick off the 2013 season when they host St. John's, on Saturday, Feb. 16 at noon. Last season, the Crusaders went 5-10 overall (0-6 Patriot League). Holy Cross returns 27 letterwinners and five starters.
