HC Welcomes 20 New Players With Seven High School All-Americans
WORCESTER, Mass. - Holy Cross head men's lacrosse coach Jim Morrissey has announced the addition of 20 new players to the 2013 roster with 19 freshmen and one sophomore, including seven US Lacrosse High School All-Americans.
"After the completion of the fall season, I am pleased to announce the Holy Cross men's lacrosse class of 2016," said Morrissey. "This group of young men provides great energy, depth and competition at each position on the field and I am expecting continued improvement and significant contributions from them in the spring."

Boylan was a four-year member of the varsity lacrosse team at Kings Park H.S. for coach Marcelo Sandoval as he scored 19 career goals with three as a senior, five as a junior, three as a sophomore and eight as a freshman. He posted 51 career assists with 13 as a senior, 11 as a junior, 14 as a sophomore and 13 as a freshman.
Bringewatt was a two-year member of the varsity lacrosse team at Summit H.S. for coach Jim Davidson as he was a senior captain. He scored 22 career goals and 10 assists, and earned third team All-Union County accolades his senior year. The team was 2011 Group 2 state champions and 2012 Group 1 state champions.
Coan was a two-year member of the varsity lacrosse team at Loyola Blakefield for coach Jack Crawford. The team finished the year ranked No. 15 in the nation by Inside Lacrosse. He also played for the freestate team in 2011 and was selected by the Maryland State Lacrosse Coaches Association to the top 44 game in 2011.
Cousin was a four-year member of the varsity lacrosse team at Somers High School for coach Lew Janavey as he was a team captain his senior year. The team won the Sectional Championship in 2009, while he was named All-Section Honorable Mention in 2011 and 2012. He also played lacrosse in the summer on Team Superstar for coach Roy Colsey.
Hines was a four-year member of the varsity lacrosse team at The Governors Academy for coach Peter Bidstrup as the team won the Independent Schools League championship in 2009, 2011 and 2012. Team achieved an undefeated season in 2011. He won the Coaches Award in 2012. He also played club lacrosse for 3D New England under coach Jamie Monroe.
Kennedy played in 10 games for Penn State in 2012 for coach Jeff Tambroni. He was a three-year member of the varsity lacrosse team at The Governor's Academy under coach Peter Bidstrup as he was a team captain his senior year. He was named a 2011 US Lacrosse High School All-American. Kennedy was the team's MVP in 2011, while he earned ISL Honorable Mention in 2010 and ISL league MVP in 2011. He helped lead the team to 2011 ISL Championship title and 2009 Tri-Champions ISL league. He was awarded the Governor's Academy Goodwin Athletic Prize in 2011 for athletic achievement and sportsmanship. He was named Boston Globe All Scholastic in 2011. Kennedy also played club lacrosse on New England Select Lacrosse for coaches John Pirie and Matt Rowley. He was an Under Armor All-American Underclassmen in 2009 and 2010 and an Adidas All-American in 2010.
Lang was a four-year member of the varsity lacrosse team at Bath-Havering High School for coach Ken DiDomineck as he was a 2012 US Lacrosse High School Academic All-American. He won Defensive MVP in 2010 and 2011, and Team MVP in 2012, while he was named All-League in 2011 and 2012 and League Player of the Year in 2012. Lang earned 2012 first team All-Section honors. He scored a total of 39 goals and had 26 assists for 65 career points. He also played on FCA and Finger Lakes Lacrosse Club under coaches Greg Scott and Tyler Gale.
Larrivee was a four-year member of the varsity lacrosse team at Bedford High School for coach Matt Guerard as he was a senior captain. He earned US Lacrosse High School All-American honors as the team achieved an undefeated season in 2012 and were DII state champions. He was named Union Leader first-team All-State. He set school records for career goals and ground balls. He also played on the N.H. Tomahawk Purple Elite club team under coach Chris Cameron.
Mulligan was a four-year member of the varsity lacrosse team at St. Andrew's School for coaches Jeff Goldberg and R.J. Dawson as he was a senior captain. He was a 2012 US Lacrosse High School All-American and earned 2012 first-team All-South Florida honors. He received 2012 first team Palm Beach Post and first team Sun Sentinel honors, while was a ESPN Southeast Player of the Week in 2012. Team won state championship in 2009, 2010 and 2012. Mulligan won the 2012 Jerry Reese Sportsmanship Award and picked up 80 ground balls as a senior. He also played for Team Florida club team for coach Jeff Goldberg and for Team 22 for coaches Casey Powell and R.J. Dawson.
Ortlieb was a four-year member of the varsity lacrosse team at Corona Del Mar for coach G.W. Mix as he was a two-year team captain. Ortlieb was voted US Lacrosse All-American. He was an ESPNHS Lacrosse Top 25 Seniors on the Rise and earned first-team All-League in 2011 and 2012. Ortlieb also received first-team All-County accolades. Team went undefeated in 2012 posting a 24-0 record as it was the first team in the CIF era to go undefeated capturing their first ever CIF Southern Section title. As a senior he had 179 saves, a save percentage of .710 and allowed an average of just over three goals a game. He also played for Team America for coach G.W. Mix and Dallas Select for coach Anthony Crimmins as he was a team captain in 2011 and 2012.
Picardi was a three-year member of the varsity lacrosse team at Niskayuna High School for coach Mike Vorgang as he won the Coach's Award in 2012. He earned first team Section II honors and received 2010 and 2012 Scholar Athlete accolades. Team was regional and sectional champions in 2010 and 2012 and state semifinalists in 2010 and 2012. He also played for the Albany Power club team for coach Mike Vorgang.
Rassenfoss was a three-year member of the varsity lacrosse team at Kent Denver High School for coach Tom Graesser. He posted 48 goals and 23 assists for 71 career points as he was named the team's Most Valuable Attack Player in his junior year. He scored a career high 25 goals and notched 14 assists as a senior as he led the team in scoring both junior and senior year. He was named All-Colorado junior and senior year and All-Conference junior and senior year. He also played club for 3D lacrosse and coach Jamie Munroe.
Reilly was a two-year member of the varsity lacrosse team at Chaminade High School for coach Jack Moran as he scored a total of 13 goals and tallied nine assists for 22 points. He posted a career high eight goals and six assists his senior year. Team ranked No. 1 nationally by US Lacrosse and No. 3 by Inside Lacrosse. Reilly also played club for Long Island Express for coach Mike Chanenchuk.
Shannon was a three-year member of the varsity lacrosse team at Phillips Academy Andover for coach Steve Moreland as he was a team captain his senior year. He also played club lacrosse for 3D Lacrosse under coaches Jamie Munro and Dave Jenkins.
Sheehan was a four-year member of the varsity lacrosse team at Adlai E. Stevenson High School for coach Brian Larsen as he was a team captain his senior year. He earned US Lacrosse Academic All-American honors. Sheehan tallied 63 goals and 77 assists for 140 career points and earned team MVP, Offensive Player of the Year and Big Gun Award his senior year. He was named All-Conference, Illinois State All-Star and Academic All-Conference his senior year, while he was named All-Conference and Academic All-Conference his junior year. Team made appearance in state semifinals his sophomore year. Sheehan also played club lacrosse for True Lacrosse and coach Tom Wood as he was voted Player of the Year.
Smith was a two-year member of varsity lacrosse team at Georgetown Prep for coach Kevin Giblin as the team won IAC Championship in 2011. Team was ranked in the top 25 in the nation by Inside Lacrosse in 2011 and 2012.
Weber was a two-year member of the varsity lacrosse team at Summit High School for coach Jim Davidson as he was a team captain his senior year. He earned first team All-Group 1 honors as the team was Group 1 State Champions. Team won Conference and County championships as it posted a school record 68 game winning streak.
Wilkinson was a two-year member of the varsity lacrosse team at Ridgefield High School for coach Roy Colsey as he was a team captain his senior year. He was named a 2012 US Lacrosse High School All-American, while he received All-FCIAC and All-State in 2012. Wilkinson recorded 40 goals and 50 assists for 90 points in 2012. Team won the state championship in 2011.
Wright was a three-year member of the varsity lacrosse team at Loyola Academy for coach Rob Snyder as he was awarded team Defenseman of the Year in 2012. He received the Patrick L. Rattigan Award (senior with the highest GPA) in 2012. Wright was named All-Conference in 2012, while he was selected to the Class A State All-Star Team in 2012. Team won State Championship in 2012 and were runners-up in 2010 and 2011. He played for club team True Lacrosse for coach Tom Wood.
