Before Holy Cross: Spent one post-graduate year at the Avon Old Farms School in Avon, Conn., playing for coach Skip Flanagan … recorded 20 goals and 35 assists for 55 points in his only season at Avon Old Farms, while winning the Skip Flanagan Award … previously a three-year member of the varsity lacrosse team at the Georgetown Preparatory School for coach Kevin Giblin … helped lead Georgetown Prep to the IAC Championship in both 2009 and 2010.

Personal: Son of Jim and Mary Lynn Shanahan … has three brothers (James, Ryan and Kyle) … brother, James, played lacrosse at Washington & Lee, earning All-America honors as a senior … has not yet declared a major.
