- The Holy Cross men's lacrosse team will kick off the season on Saturday, Feb. 18, when it travels to Queens, N.Y., to play St. John's at DaSilva Memorial Field at 1:00 p.m. This will be the fifth straight year that the Crusaders have opened the season against the Red Storm.
- Last season, Holy Cross lost to St. John's by a 16-7 score on Feb. 19 in Worcester. In 2010, the Crusaders lost to the Red Storm on the road by a 9-8 score, while in 2009 at the Hart Turf Field, the Crusaders lost by a score of 10-5 on Feb. 14. In 2008 Holy Cross defeated St. John's, 7-5, on Feb. 16 in Queens. Last season, St. John's went 4-10 (2-4 Big East).
- The Crusaders are 2-3 in their last five season openers. This includes a 10-8 win over Hartford on Feb. 20, 2007 and the 1-3 record versus St. John's.
- Holy Cross returns 26 letterwinners and five starters from last season (2-13 overall, 1-5 Patriot League), as the Crusaders concluded the 2011 campaign by winning two of their last five games. Holy Cross also returns its top six point producers and has added 16 new players to the roster. The Crusaders will be led by their three captains, senior A.J. Guarente (Gaithersburg, Md.), senior David Henry (Davidson, Md.) and junior James Kennedy (Summit, N.J.).
