Men's Lacrosse Picked Seventh In PL Preseason Poll
WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross men's lacrosse team has been picked to finish seventh in the 2012 Patriot League preseason poll as voted on by head coaches and sports information directors from around the league. Bucknell was picked to finish first as it earned 12 of 14 first-place votes and 72 total points. Army had the other two first-place votes and 54 total points as it was picked to finish second, while Colgate followed in third with 52 total points. Lehigh (44 total points) was fourth, Navy (38 total points) was fifth, Lafayette (19 total points) was sixth and Holy Cross (15 total points) was seventh. Junior Peter Baum of Colgate was selected the preseason's Offensive Player of the Year, while the preseason Defensive Player of the Year was chosen to be senior Tim Henderson of Army.
The Crusaders kick off the 2012 season when they play at St. John's in Queens, N.Y., on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 1:00 p.m. Holy Cross returns 27 letterwinners and six starters.
