WORCESTER, Mass. - Sophomore Matt Celin (Gibsonia, Pa.) has been named the AT&T Crusader of the Week, for competition from December 1-7. Celin scored three of the team's four goals last week, as the Holy Cross men's ice hockey team split a pair of games with Bentley.
During Saturday's 3-2 win over the Falcons, Celin netted a pair of goals. His first goal gave the Crusaders a 2-1 lead at the 14:52-mark of the second period, then he added the game-winning goal at the 3:02-mark of the third period. Celin also scored Holy Cross' only goal in Friday's 4-1 loss at Bentley.
During the Bentley series, Celin played forward for the first time in his collegiate career. He had previously seen action in 40 career games for Holy Cross as a defenseman.
Overall this season, Celin has now scored four points on three goals and one assist. Over the course of his Holy Cross career, he has four goals and two assists for six points.
The Crusaders, who currently stand 5-10-1 overall and 5-8-1 in Atlantic Hockey, return to action on Thursday, Dec. 11, when they travel to New Hampshire for a 7:00 p.m. game.
