WORCESTER, Mass. - Junior defenseman Jon Landry (Lexington, Mass.) has been named the Holiday Inn Express Crusader of the Week, for competition from November 21-27. Landry recorded three assists last weekend, as the Holy Cross men's ice hockey team had a runner-up finish at the Rensselaer Holiday Hockey Tournament.
In Friday night's 3-2 victory over RPI, Landry had assists on two of the Crusaders' goals. His first assist came on a goal by Cal St. Denis which gave Holy Cross a 2-0 lead midway through the third period, while his second assist came on Dale Reinhardt's game winning goal to break a 2-2 tie with just over five minutes left to play. Landry also had an assist on the Crusaders' only goal in Saturday's 6-1 loss against Nebraska-Omaha in the tournament championship game.
Through 10 games played this season, Landry ranks third on the team in scoring with nine points on a goal and eight assists. Over the course of his career as a Crusader, Landry has now totaled seven goals and 32 assists for 39 points.
Holy Cross currently has an overall record of 7-3-1, and stands in second place in Atlantic Hockey with a 5-2-1 mark in conference games. The Crusaders return to action on Friday, Dec. 2, when they travel to Canisius for a 7:00 p.m. game.
