Dewey Thomson Named Crusader Of The Week

Nov. 20, 2006

WORCESTER, Mass. - Sophomore forward Dewey Thomson (Northbridge, Mass.) has been named the Holiday Inn Express Crusader of the Week, for competition from November 13-19. Last weekend, Thomson had four goals and an assist, as the Holy Cross men's ice hockey team swept a pair of games from Army at the Hart Center.

In Friday night's 4-3 victory over the Black Knights, Thomson assisted on Holy Cross' first goal, and then scored back-to-back goals later in the first period to give the Crusaders a 3-1 lead. Then on Saturday, in a 5-2 win over Army, he once again netted two goals, including the game-winner.

Through 11 games played this season, Thomson now ranks fourth on the team in scoring with 10 points on five goals and five assists. Over the course of his career as a Crusader, he has totaled seven goals and nine assists for 16 points.

The Crusaders (6-5 overall, 5-3 Atlantic Hockey) return to action on Tuesday, Nov. 21, when they play host to Connecticut in a 7:00 p.m. game at the Hart Center. Tuesday night's game will be shown live on WCTR-TV 3 in Worcester.
