Patrick Rissmiller Signs With The New York Rangers

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Former Holy Cross hockey player Patrick Rissmiller has signed with the New York Rangers as announced by the team's president and general manager Glen Sather.

Rissmiller, who was an unrestricted free agent, had 18 goals and 27 assists for 45 points in 180 NHL games with the San Jose Sharks. Last year, he recorded eight goals and nine assists for 17 points in 79 games with San Jose. In the 2006-2007 season, Rissmiller scored seven goals and had 15 assists for a career-best 22 points. He has played in 30 career NHL playoff games with three goals and four assists for seven points.

As a four-year Crusader (1998-2002), Rissmiller recorded 53 goals and 90 assists for 143 points in 131 games. He is second on the Holy Cross Division I all-time points and assists lists, while he is tied for fourth in goals. In his senior season, Rissmiller led the Crusaders in assists (30) and points (46) as he was named the MAAC Offensive Player of the Year.
