Tyler McGregor Named 2005-2006 Crusader Of The Year

WORCESTER, Mass. - Senior forward Tyler McGregor (Ajax, Ontario.), a member of the men's ice hockey team, has been selected as the 2005-2006 Crusader of the Year. The award was presented at the 52nd Annual Varsity Club Dinner, held at the Hogan Campus Center on Saturday, May 6.

A team captain, McGregor earned third team All-America honors this year, after leading Holy Cross to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament with a 4-3 overtime victory over Minnesota. The Atlantic Hockey Player of the Year and the Atlantic Hockey Sportsmanship Award winner, McGregor led the Crusaders in goals (26) and points (54) this season, while he was tied for second on the team in assists (28). His 0.68 goals per game ranked him sixth in the country, while his 1.42 points per game were seventh nationally.

McGregor also scored 13 power play goals this year, to tie the school single season record and rank fifth in the nation. He concluded his Holy Cross career with 70 goals and 67 assists for 137 points in 143 games. McGregor is tied for 15th all-time at Holy Cross in points and is second in games played.
