Tony Quesada Earns Meegan Athletic Achievement Award

WORCESTER, Mass. - Senior goaltender Tony Quesada (South Freeport, Maine), a member of the Holy Cross men's ice hockey team, has been selected as the 2005-2006 recipient of the John A. Meegan Athletic Achievement Award. The award was presented at the 52nd Annual Varsity Club Dinner, held at the Hogan Campus Center on Saturday, May 6.

A four-year member of the men's ice hockey team, Quesada was named second team All-Atlantic Hockey this season after posting a 22-6-2 record with 840 saves, a 2.30 goals against average and a .925 save percentage. A semifinalist for the Walter Brown Award as the top American-born player in New England, he set school single season records for victories and save percentage this year.

Quesada also helped lead Holy Cross to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament with a 4-3 overtime victory over Minnesota. In addition, Quesada broke the Holy Cross career records for victories (61), goals against average (2.50), save percentage (.915), games played (105) and minutes played (6033:54).
