WORCESTER, Mass. - Senior defenseman Marty Dams (Manotick, Ontario) and junior forward Ryan Driscoll (Dorchester, Mass.) will serve as co-captains for the 2008-09 Holy Cross men's hockey team as announced by the hockey program.
Dams just recently received the Glenn "Spike" Crane Memorial Award along with graduating senior Matt Burke at the team's annual banquet. The award is given to the player who excels most in the little things and leads his teammates by example. Dams has two goals and 15 assists for 17 points in 87 career games. This season he recorded a career best seven assists in a career best 34 games played. As a sophomore he had one goal and five assists for six points in 25 games, while as a freshman he had one goal and three assists for four points in 28 games.
As a sophomore Driscoll had six goals and 11 assists for 17 points in 36 games played. He tied for fourth on the team in assists, tied for fifth in points and tied for sixth in goals. As a freshman he played in 33 games and also had six goals and 11 assists for 17 points. Driscoll has scored 10 power play goals in his career.
