Worcester, Mass. - Junior Andrew Weber (Hanson, Mass.) was named Atlantic Hockey Player of the Week, as announced by the league office.
Weber netted his first career-hat trick to lead the Crusaders over Sacred Heart, 4-2, on Saturday, March 12, at the Hart Center in the Quarterfinals of the Atlantic Hockey Tournament. The forward, who posted three goals during the regular-season, doubled his season total to six on Saturday with his hat trick. Weber scored Holy Cross' first two goals of the game in the beginning stanza and scored an insurance goal early in the third for the Crusaders. So far this season Weber has recorded nine points, including three assists.
Junior Tony Queada (South Freeport, Maine) and freshman Matt Burke (Milton, Mass.) earned honorable mention from the conference. Quesada stopped 21 shots and held Sacred Heart scoreless the final two periods of the game. Burke scored the game-winner for the Crusaders on the man-up on Saturday.
The Crusaders advance to the Atlantic Hockey Semifinals hosted by Quinnipiac at the Northford Ice Pavilion, on Friday, March 18. Holy Cross will take on Mercyhurst at 7:30 p.m.
