WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross Varsity Club has announced that five individuals have been selected for induction into the Holy Cross Athletic Hall of Fame. Included among the 2005 inductees is former hockey player Matthew Muniz (Class of 1987).

Muniz was a two-year captain of the Crusader hockey team during the 1985-1986 and 1986-1987 seasons. He set a school single season record with 53 assists in 1984-1985, and was named All-New England and second team Titan All-America that year. Muniz also totaled 54 points on 26 goals and 28 assists as a senior, while recording five career hat tricks. Over the course of his collegiate career, Muniz totaled 207 points on 87 goals and 120 assists. He still ranks second all-time at Holy Cross in assists, third in points and sixth in goals. Following the completion of his career as a Crusader, Muniz was drafted by the Virginia Lancers of the Atlantic Coast Hockey League and All-American Hockey League, with whom he totaled 80 goals and 76 assists in two seasons.

This year's other inductees are Jerome Fuller (Class of 1992, baseball and football), James Marcellino (Class of 1965, football and lacrosse), Gordon Massa (Class of 1957, baseball, basketball and football) and Amy O'Brien (Class of 1999, basketball).
