WORCESTER, Mass. - Holy Cross freshman goalie Adam Roy (Feeding Hills, Mass.) has been named the Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Week for his performance in the two games against Army in West Point, N.Y., on February 8-9. This is the second time this season that Roy has received this honor, while he was also named the Goalie of the Week once earlier this season.
Roy stopped 63 of 66 shots in the two games. On Friday he made 40 saves on 42 shots, while on Saturday he stopped 23 of 24 shots in the 1-1 tie. This is the second time this season he has made 40 or more saves as he stopped 44 shots at Mercyhurst in the 4-1 win on October 26. For the season, Roy has played in 20 games, while his .914 save percentage is ranked fourth in the conference.
The Crusaders (8-13-7, 7-11-4 AHA) return to action on Saturday and Sunday, February 16-17, when they travel to Buffalo, N.Y., to meet Atlantic Hockey opponent Canisius (9-15-5, 8-10-4 AHA). Saturday's game will start at 7:05 p.m., while on Sunday the game is set to start at 4:05 p.m.
