Worcester, Mass. - Juniors Tyler McGregor (Ajax, Ont.) and Tony Quesada (South Freeport, Maine) were named Atlantic Hockey Player and Goaltender of the Week, respectively, as announced by the league office.
McGregor tallied three goals and a helper during the UConn Hockey Classic. On Thursday, he led the Crusaders by netting two goals in the 6-3 victory over UConn and helped the Crusaders advance to the championship game. McGregor followed with a goal and an assist in Friday's contest against Brown. For his efforts, the forward was named to the All-Tournament team, the only player not wearing a Brown's jersey to receive the honor. With his three goals, McGregor now leads the team with eight goals and ranks second in conference games with six markers.
Quesada made 38 saves and allowed only two goals to help the Crusaders defeat tournament host Connecticut in the semi-finals of the Toyota UConn Hockey Classic. Despite allowing two goals, Quesada remains atop the conference standings with a 1.79 goals against average. Holy Cross travels to Connecticut on Tuesday, Jan. 4 to take on Atlantic Hockey foe Sacred Heart at the Milford Ice Pavilion at 7 p.m.
