Holy Cross falls to Bentley

Worcester, Mass. - The Holy Cross men's hockey team was defeated by Bentley, 5-3, Saturday night at the Hart Center in front of a crowd of 1,019 fans.

Leading Holy Cross was senior Tony Coskren (Walpole, Mass.), who scored two goals in Crusaders' campaign. Coskren scored the first goal of the game at 11:45 in the first from the top of the face-off circle. In the third period Coskren put the puck in the net from the far side of right face-off circle.

The Falcons answered with two-late first period goals of their own. Freshman Jaye Judd ( Brandon, Man.) scored his first-goal of the season at 16:49, followed by junior Ryan Mayhew's (Owatonna, Minn.) goal at 18:23 , to put Bentley up 2-3.

Bentley continued scoring in the second period, going up 4-2 when junior Ryan Lessnau (Southfield, Mich.) netted a pair of goals at 3:17 and 17:16 in the stanza.

With one second remaining the Falcons scored one last time after taking a loose puck and pushing it to Brendan McCartin (Camp Hill, Pa.), who put it in the Crusaders' empty net, putting the score at 5-3, Bentley.

Junior Ben Conway (South Hadley, Mass.) made 14 saves for Holy Cross, while Geordan Murphy (Caledonia, Mich.) stopped 26 shots for the win.

The Crusaders, who are now 3-2-1 overall and 1-1-0 in Atlantic Hockey, are idle next weekend before hosting American International on Tuesday, Nov. 16 at 7:30 p.m. at the Hart Center.
