Worcester, Mass. - The Holy Cross men's hockey team and American International skated to a one-all tie in overtime Tuesday night at the Hart Center.
Senior netminder Frank Novello (Sault St. Marie) held the Crusaders scoreless for two periods before junior Blair Bartlett (Dryden, Ont.) scored a power play goal midway through the third with help from sophomores Jon Landry (Lexington, Mass.) and James Sixsmith (Alexandria, Va.).
Sophomore Jeason Lecours (Sherbrooke, Que.) broke a scoreless match early in the third at 4:24 on a deflected shot from sophomore Ryan Carr (Hanover, Mass.).
Novello halted 45 shots for the Yellow Jackets, while junior Tony Quesada (South Freeport, Maine) stopped 16 shots on goal.
The Crusaders, who are now, 3-2-2 overall and 1-1-1 in Atlantic Hockey, travel to West Point, N.Y. to take on Army, Friday-Saturday, Nov.19-20. Holy Cross returns to Massachusetts to take on nationally ranked Boston College on Monday, Nov. 22 at the Conte Forum in Chestnut Hill.
