West Point - The Holy Cross men's hockey team was shutout by Army, 2-0, Friday night at the Tate Rink.
The Crusaders had several scoring opportunities, including 38 shots on net, but Army's goalie Treye Kettwick (DeWitt, Iowa) held Holy Cross scoreless.
Sophomore Michael Piccone (Johnston, R.I.) put the Black Knights on the board midway through the second with the help from senior Chad Fiffield (Eden Prairie, Minn.).
Senior Nick Cahill (Saulte St.Marie, Mich.) netted a second goal for Army at 3:52 in the third. Senior Justin Fagan (Greene, R.I.) and sophomore Casey Bickley (Faribault, Minn.) were credited with the assists.
Junior Tony Quesada (South Freeport, Maine) halted 24 shots on goal, taking his first loss of the season.
The Crusaders return to Tate Rink on Saturday, Nov. 20, to close the weekend series against Army at 7 p.m. On Monday, Nov. 22, Holy Cross goes up against nationally ranked Boston College at the Conte Forum in Chestnut Hill at 7 p.m.
