Holy Cross rallies to tie Army

West Point, N.Y. - After being down 2-0 in the second period, the Holy Cross men's hockey team came back to tie Army, 3-3 in overtime at Tate Rink on Saturday night.

Sophomore Sean Nappo (Northville, Mich.) started the Crusaders revival at 14:19 in the second with help from senior Chris Sullivan (South Windsor, Conn.) and sophomore Tanner Fogarty (McMurray, Pa.).

Minutes later freshman Matt Burke (Milton, Mass.) evened the score at two-all with 1:02 left in the second. Junior Pierre Napert-Frenette (Bathurst, N.B.) and sophomore Rob Godfrey (Thunder Bay, Ont.) were credited with the assists.

Sophomore Jon Landry put the Crusaders up, 3-2, midway through the third with Fogarty and Sullivan tallying their second helpers of the night.

Army's Robb Ross would even the score at three-all with 3:29 left in the game.

Junior Ben Conway (South Hadley, Mass.) halted 25 saves for the Crusaders, while Treye Kettwick stopped 30 shots for the Black Knights.

Early in the first period Army jumped on the board when David Andros netted a goal at 5:05 on a pass from Brad Howard. The Black Knights would open the second period with a goal at 1:08 as Seth Beamer found the back of the net on a shot from just inside the blue line.

The Crusaders take on nationally ranked Boston College on Monday, Nov. 22, at the Conte Forum in Chestnut Hill, Mass. at 7 p.m.
