Worcester, Mass. - Junior Tyler McGregor (Ajax, Ont.) tapped in the game-winning goal with help from junior assistant captain Pierre Napert-Frenette (Bathurst , N.B.) with 1:23 remaining in the game to give Holy Cross the 3-2 victory over Army, Friday night at the Hart Center. Senior assistant captain Tony Coskren (Walpole, Mass.) was also credited with the assist.
After a scoreless first period, senior captain Andrew McKay (Bellefeuille, Que.) put the Crusaders on the board at 7:52 with a slap shot just outside of the blue line with help from Napert-Frenette.
The Black Knights rallied in the third, scoring twice, including a power-play goal by senior Justin Fagan (Greene, R.I.) at 4:31. Sophomore Casey Bickley (Faribault, Minn.) and senior captain Chad Fifield (Eden Prairie, Minn.) were credited with the assists. Army's Michael Picone (Johnston, R.I.) found the back of the net with assistance from freshman Chris Colvin (Brunswick, Ohio) and Fifield to put the Black Knights up by one at 12:19.
Sophomore Sean Nappo (Northville, Mich.) evened the score at two-all with a power play goal at 16:21 in the third when he tipped the puck in the net after attempts by sophomore Frank O'Grady (Kimberly, B.C.), freshman Matt Burke (Milton, Mass.) and sophomore James Sixsmith (Alexandria, Va.) were blocked.
In the crease Army's Treye Kettwick (DeWitt, Iowa) made 30 saves, while junior Tony Quesada (South Freeport, Maine) tallied 10 saves for his third win of the season.
Holy Cross returns to the Hart Center on Sunday, Dec. 5 at 5 p.m., to take on Quinnipiac, while Army travels to Storrs, Conn. to take on Connecticut on Saturday, Dec. 4 at 7:05 p.m.
