Worcester, Mass. - Senior Blair Bartlett (Dryden, Ontario) scored the only goal of the game with 22 seconds left in the first period as the Holy Cross men's hockey team defeated Army, 1-0, in the Atlantic Hockey opener for both teams, on Friday night at the Hart Center. With the win, the Crusaders improve to 2-0-0 (1-0-0 AHA), while the Black Knights fall to 0-5-0 (0-1-0 AHA).
Bartlett scored his first goal of the season off a wrist shot from the right faceoff circle with assists credited to sophomore Matt Burke (Milton, Mass.) and senior Pierre Napert-Frenette (Bathurst, New Brunswick).
Senior goaltender Tony Quesada (South Freeport, Mass.) made 25 saves to earn the shutout and to improve to 2-0-0 on the season. Army goalie Brad Roberts stopped 23 shots.
The Crusaders return to the ice Saturday night to face Army again at the Hart Center at 7:00 p.m.
