Storrs, Conn. - Junior netminder Tony Quesada (South Freeport, Maine) recorded his first shutout of the season to lead Holy Cross in its second all-time shutout in 75 games over Connecticut, 5-0.

With the victory the Crusaders improve to 14-10-5 overall and now sit in first in Atlantic Hockey with a league record of 11-4-4.

After a scoreless first period the Crusaders put a marker on the board just 56 seconds in to the second. Sophomore Frank O'Grady (Kimberley, B.C.) fired a shot from just inside the blue line that was tipped in by freshman Dale Reinhardt (Livingston, N.J.) over UConn netminder Scott Tomes' stick side.

The Crusaders increased their lead by five with four unanswered goals in the third period. On a series of passes from sophomore James Sixsmith (Alexandria, Va.) to O'Grady, freshman Matt Burke (Milton, Mass.) blasted a shot from above the left face off circle at 6:19.

Midway through the third period, senior Jonas Tomiuck (Wainfleet, Ont.) netted the Crusaders third goal of the game from high in slot with help from freshman Cal St. Denis (Freelton, Ont.) and Burke.

St. Denis posted the fourth goal of the game from the point. Junior Blair Bartlett (Dryden, Ont.) and Tomiuck assisted on the play.

With 1:27 remaining in the game junior Pierre Napert-Frenette (Bathurst, N.B.) wrangled the puck away from UConn and pushed it into the Huskies' empty net from just inside the blue line, for a final score of 5-0.

Quesada halted 23 shots on goal for the victory and his fourth career-shutout. Tomes made 29 saves for UConn.

Holy Cross visits league foe Sacred Heart on Friday, Feb. 18 at the Milford Ice Pavilion at 7:00 p.m.
