WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross sophomore goalie Matt Ginn (Lindsay, Ontario) has been named the Team Travel USA Atlantic Hockey Goalie of the Week for his performance in wins versus AIC and Clarkson. Ginn made 75 saves on 78 shots on the week as he posted a .962 save percentage, a 1.50 goals against average and a 2-0-0 record. This is the second time in his career that Ginn has won this honor, while this is his fifth AHA weekly honor as he earned Rookie of the Week accolades three times as a freshman.
Ginn made 39 saves and allowed two goals as the Crusaders defeated AIC by a 6-2 score on the road in the season-opener on Oct. 16. Ginn then tallied 36 saves and allowed only one goal for a .973 save percentage in the 3-1 victory at Clarkson on Oct. 20. So far this season he leads Atlantic Hockey in goals against average (1.50) and save percentage (.962). For his career, he has a 19-8-2 record with a .910 save percentage and a 2.36 goals against average.
The Crusaders (2-0-0 overall, 1-0-0 AHA) return to action when they play their first two home games of the season at the Hart Center on Oct. 26-27. On Friday, the Crusaders will meet UConn (0-1-0 overall, 0-0-0 AHA) at 7:00 p.m., while on Saturday they will play Army (1-2-1 overall, 1-0-1 AHA) at 7:00 p.m.
