WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross men's hockey program has named senior forward Erik Vos (Carlisle, Ontario) as captain and senior forward Rob Linsmayer (Winnetka, Ill.) as assistant captain for the 2012-2013 season.
Vos has played in 104 career games with 25 goals and 28 assists for 53 points. His 25 goals are the most by any current Crusader. This season, he played in all 39 games and recorded a career-best year with 13 goals, 14 assists and 27 points. Vos ranked third on the team in points, fourth on the team in goals and fifth on the team in assists. He was also named the AT&T Crusader of the Week this season. As a sophomore he played in 34 games with eight goals and 11 assists for 19 points, while as a freshman he played in 31 contests with four goals and three assists for seven points. As a sophomore he was named to the Atlantic Hockey All-Academic team.
Linsmayer has played in 114 career games with 24 goals and 49 assists for 73 points. He has the most career assists and points by any current Crusader. This season he played in all 39 games and scored eight goals and had 12 assists for 20 points. He tied for first on the team with five game-winning goals and was fifth on the team in goals scored. Linsmayer tied for first in Atlantic Hockey and sixth in the nation in game-winning goals. As a sophomore, he won the Atlantic Hockey Best Defensive Forward Award. He posted 12 goals and 22 assists for 34 points. As a freshman he won the team's Seventh Player Award and tallied four goals and 15 assists for 19 points.
The Crusaders return 17 players from the 2011-2012 season. The Crusaders concluded the season with a 20-15-4 overall record for the sixth 20-win season in program history. Also the Crusaders' 15-8-4 (.630) Atlantic Hockey record was their best since going 19-7-2 (.714) in 2005-2006.
